The backspace button of my Dell Inspiron B130 is broken. Is Bestbuy equipped to repair this problem?
The left button below the touchpad is sticking and needs to be fixed. I have removed other keys and replaced them. Was not sure If there was a specific way to replace the button. Can someone assist?
There is a way to buy the keypad online, but If it were mine and still under warantee, I would send it in. Otherwise you could possibly cause more damage. The keypad can be picked up here,http://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=category&start=48&id=141 , for around thirty dollars. There are also instructions for insalling on that same site. But don't attempt disassembling the notbook unless you feel confidant. Good luck
Sound like you need to replace the whole keyboard. You can just buy a replacement keyboard from Dell and replace it yourself. The keyboard is a whole piece that can be removed buy removing the screws from the bottom of the notebook. Best Buy will charge you lot to do this.

It will be a combination keystroke--use the Fn key at the lower left side of your keyboard and one of the other keys (usually a special function key) that has a picture of a speaker on it. The other thing you must check is the sound properties icon in the control panel and be sure your speakers have not been muted.
Sounds like your fan is blocked with dust, or it may be broken.
Google "cleaning laptop fan".
This is lots of great guides and youtube videos showing you what you need to do
Your backspace does not work.... well could be many reasons, but if its the key itself, you can replace just the dell laptop key, if you spilled something then you will need a new keyboard, we really need more info. Good luck!
Look for a key labeled "Fn" (blue lettering) on the lower left side of the keyboard
Hold the "Fn" key and then use the Up/Down arrows to adjust brightness.
If that doesn't work, reboot your laptop and get into the BIOS. There is a screen for brightness. I don't recall how it is labeled, but it's one of the last pages as you cycle through the BIOS options.
After your laptop boots up into windows, hold down the Fn key and as your doing that press the F8 button that should switch the output from the vga connetor to the LCD screen on the laptop.
If you still don't get video then you'll have to reseat the LCD cable from the back of the LCD screen to where it connects to the motheboard.
If you still don't get video then its either going to be a bad LCD or a bad motherboard.
Dell Laptop with bios or hard drive password set ? Unlock your dell laptop using the link below if it display a message that says "this computer system is protected by a password authentication system, you cannot access the data on this computer without the primary or administrator password, when you turn on the computer. This message is what you get if the BIOS is protected by a password. or you get system disabled
Go to: http://dell-inspiron-b130-bios-password.biospwd.com to get your dell bios password authentication and get full access to your dell computer, they can unlock almost all dell laptop such as dell inspiron, xps, latitude, precision, studio, vostro
Unfortunately you may need to get a replacement or just purchase an external USB keyboard and connect it. This would be the cheaper and easier solution for you; unless it is under warranty.
I am not sure if BestBuy is authorized to repair Dell systems, but if they will take it, then they should be able to fix it. The fix will depend on the nature of the problem. If the key is simply poped out in some way, they may be able to re-attach it on the spot. If not, they will likely have to order the keyboard part from Dell, open up the notebook (or remove the keyboard) and replace it. On some computers this is easier than others. Most commercial lines of notebooks allow the keyboard to be replaceed easily by the end user without opening the case at all - just undo some latches and remove some screws, pop it out, pop the new one in, screw it down and latch it in. Some consumer systems (Inspiron is a consumer line) are not so well designed. It all depends.
Either way, BestBuy should be able to repair it. If you check with Dell first, you may find that you can even repair it yourself if it is designed to be a "user replaceable" part as i describe above.
First remove the battery from the PC! Leave it off for a short period of time! about 2min. This allows the computer to erase anything in temporary memory. Place the battery back onto th PC and try to boot it up. The other thing you can do is boot the pc up with just the power cord in place. See if it boots just from the power cord. Sometime the batteries from dell causes the whole entire PC to become unresponsive.
